We operate from a fully equipped, modern 6000 sq ft engineering workshop on the outskirts of Cork city. The company specialises in all types of industrial and commercial boiler and heat exchanger sales and repair, and offers a full boiler house package.

| Step | What happens |

| 1. Inspect | Weld defects are found by ultrasonic testing every 5 years. If defects reach the water side, or cracking shows at the toe of the sealing weld, the old furnace tube end or access door and its weld come out and a new section goes in, to conform with BS 2790. |
| 2. Remove tubes | With the old tubes out, the water side shows any scale build up, which can lead to overheating of the tubeplate. |
| 3. MPI check | A full MPI check is done on the tubeplate for cracking before new certified tubes are fitted. |
| 4. Weld prep | Projections are removed and a J type weld preparation is machined around the tube ends, to the tube wall thickness plus 3mm, as detailed in BS 2790. |
| 5. Weld and finish | Tubes are welded flush in at least 2 runs using the overlay method to cut the risk of porosity, lightly re-expanded, excess weld removed, a small radius machined on the tube bore, then MPI checked. |
| 6. Tubeplate repair | Where the 5 year NDT inspection finds cracking, a section of the front tubeplate is removed and a replacement section is welded in. |
